  • UK Data Protection Act 1988 (DPA)

  • EU General Data Protection Regulation 2018 (GDPR)

PERSONAL INFORMATION - WHY WE COLLECT IT

This website collects and uses personal information for the following reasons:

    1. Creating a customer account

If you decide to create an account with us, we only store the details requested from you (as part of the normal registration procedure), to (1) be able to process and ship your order, using your name, address and telephone number along with your email address,  and (2) to contact you about the progress of your order or any other matter relating to you conducting business with us. These details form your personal record, a copy of which you may request from us at any time.

    2. Contact form

Should you choose to complete the form on our Contact Us page or using an email link, none of the data that you supply will be stored by this website or passed to / be processed by any of the third party data processors defined in section 6.0. Instead the data will be collated within the email and sent to us over the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP). Our hosting provider's SMTP servers are protected by TLS (sometimes known as SSL) meaning that the email content is encrypted using SHA-2, 256-bit cryptography before being sent across the internet. The email content we receive, is then decrypted by our local computers and devices. However, not all mail servers are secured in such a way. Therefore, we would suggest that you always consider email as an insecure medium and not include personal, confidential or otherwise sensitive information within an email.

    3. Email newsletter

If you choose to join our mailing list, the email address that we use to contact you, is that which you supplied us with when you subscribed. This address forms a part of your personal record which is securely located on our hosting provider's servers within our store's database.

Your email address will remain within our database for as long as we use our mailing list service or until you specifically request its removal from the list. You can do this by logging in to your account online and unsubscribing using the option within your customer account page. Note that your email address is not removed from your personal record on our database, for as long as you hold an account with us.

If you are under 16 years of age you MUST obtain parental consent before joining our mailing list. While your email address remains on our mailing list, you will receive periodic emails from us, containing marketing information.

HOW WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

As detailed in section 3.0 above, if you register for an account on this website, your personal information will be stored within this website’s database. This is currently the only occasion (aside from mailing list subscriptions) where personal data is retained by us.
